You Get What You Pay For

الحمد لله رب العالمين، وصلى الله وسلم وبارك على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين وبعد السلام عليكم و رحمة الله I'am deeply affected by a current social phenomenon that is affecting the Muslims of today's world. This phenomenon is definitely linked to the fact of a lack of state structure in the Muslim world in the khilafa model. However life continues to go on regardless of a khilafa or the lack thereof. The same holds true for individual lives of people.  It saddens me to hear the stories of preachers, leaders, callers, teachers, or scholars of Islam in expressing a feeling of sighing towards this phenomenon. One such story that has prompted me to this brief article is a story I had just recently read by a teacher regarding communal economic support for the intellectual class of our society. To be more blunt here, I feel that in this very issue, I must stoke Muslim sentiments in order to attack their hearts, or their crude and haphazard perception of Islam and the sunnah in th...

Is Islam Negated Due to Homosexuality

الحمد لله رب العالمين، وصلى الله وسلم وبارك على نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين وبعد السلام عليكم و رحمة الله In recent years, I found myself having been required to clarify a specific aspect of the declaration of takfir (excommunication of Islam) over the issue of homosexuality on a number of occasions. I felt it more pertinent and feesible to collate this matter into a simple and retrievable article rather than having to type up an almost article each time I find myself having to discuss the topic, which usually ends up being a long drawn out bickering of which I have no time for.  Believe it or not, I swear by the Lord of the Worlds, a range of many Muslims, including alleged "salafis" somehow have invented a bid'a theory that homosexuality itself (whether its affection for the same gender, or liwat [the act of penetration]) is a nullifier of Islam. I have literally argued with Muslims who have argued that one cannot be Muslim and gay at the same time.  First, lets di...

Language and its use in the exploitation of power

How is this done exactly? Why would language be an avenue for power? You must understand that language is the means (the medium/channel) by which knowledge can be attained and understood. Knowledge is power If knowledge is power, then this entails that the medium of knowledge, meaning its acquisition entails the same case as knowledge itself, and thereby implicitly part of the acquirement of power or the lack thereof. From this we get the world of manipulation through euphemism This is expressed as Orwellian double speak We are in an age in which the media and the elite and the managerial class have an entirely different dictionary for how they use various terms. When they use terms, they have entirely different meanings than what the public have perceptions of those same words Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. George Orwell, “Politics and the English Language,” 1946 Andrew Gavin Marsh...

An Elaboration on Islam, History, Health, and Geopolitics

The following is a back and forth discussion that took place with a caller and the great geopolitical, historical and sociological philosopher Alan Watt on the topic above. Below is the transcription of the content and I felt it pertinent to bring here as an eye opener for people to take benefit from Conversation about Origins of Vaccinations And Medicine Justin:   I was calling you tonight to inquire a little bit about the origins of vaccination.  I’ve been doing a little bit of research and it’s taken me, so far, back to the early 17 th  century.  I was wondering if you know anything about where it was originally used.  I understand Cotton Mather got the idea supposedly from a slave who said that he’d been shot up with the smallpox virus in his home country, and came from it.     Alan:   If you back even further you’ll find that it was the Muslims, it was Islam that were the most advanced people in all sciences for hundreds of years.  ...

Exploring the World of "Manhaj" within Madkhali thought and Its Link to Intolerant Fiqh Standards Towards Muslims

There is a vast amount of material found within a certain segment of claimants to salafism originating from sources like SPUBS, Troid, and their partisan affiliates with regards to the topic, or rather the word " manhaj ". What is manhaj? The extremely loose meaning of the term simply means "a way". A much more common usage of the meaning in discussions is typically translated as "methodology". This is linguistically correct. However, there is a more technical meaning to it. Before I embark on providing further information on the topic, I think it is best to explain what was the exact provocation to perform this small endeavor to clarify the meaning of manhaj. There is a fundamental problem with the madkhali dissemination of the meaning of the term "manhaj" and this problem yielded possibly some unexpected errors in their blind followers. This is me giving the madkhali leadership the benefit of the doubt, something bereft from their "manhaj...

The Athari Way

The primary function of this brief breakdown is not to highlight the entire Athari creed, rather the purpose here is to summarize the essence of the Athari creed in the three distinct aspects that are being grossly misrepresented by the groups of Kalam theology (Ash'aris primarily along with pseudo Atharis). In short, there are three things that ahlul-hadeeth wal-athar i.e the Atharis, are having their own creed being dictated by other than themselves and being promoted in opposition to the principles of the Athari creed, hence the necessity of this brief summary of our stances. This summary is broken down into three primary issues of concern 1. Do we believe in the "literal" or the "dhaahir". Clarifying the divergence between the two 2. Ithbaat vs Tafweed al-M'anawi 3.  The standard operating procedure of classical Atharis on those issues the sources of evidences have remained silent upon So we will go forward one by one addressing these issues in the most ...

What Constitutes the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad

There are three types of Sunnah as understood in usoolul-fiqh 1. Sunnatil-qawliyyah (a stated sunnah said by the Messenger of Allah verbatim) The sayings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are called "Sunnah Qawliyyah".  The term "Hadith" generally stands as synonymous with this type of Sunnah, since the sayings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) are noted down by the companions and called "Hadith". However, ahadeeth contain more than just qawliyyah 2. Sunnatil-fi'iliyyah (a sunnah established through the actions [deeds] of the Messenger ﷺ) The actions of the beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are called "Sunnah al-Fiiliyyah". This type of Sunnah includes both religious and worldly actions.  When it comes to religious actions directly linked with worship, these sunnan are binding and hold the legal status of mandatory. However the fi'iliyyah sunnan that are reported that are of worldly actions, are not considered as mandatory in the legal sense, but most of the t...
